Medical Mile Research Terms of Use

These Terms govern use of the Medical Mile Research website, Medical Mile Network, Member Portal and available application processes, operated by Medical Mile Research, LLC ("Medical Mile," "we," "us" or "our"). Where acceptance is requested, you must review and accept these Terms to proceed. Features described here apply when offered and used; availability may vary by account and service.

Accepting these Terms does not enroll you in SMS or replace any separate notice or consent required for identity or biometric verification.
1. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCURATE INFORMATION
You must be at least 18 to apply for Network membership. Applying and participating in research are voluntary. If you choose to apply, you must provide the information and complete the verification steps required by the available application process.
You agree to provide accurate information, use your own identity and contact details, and keep your professional profile current. Do not impersonate another person, create misleading or duplicate accounts, misrepresent qualifications or submit information you are not authorized to provide. Do not enter patient records or other people's protected health information in your application or profile.
We use your information for the application, account, research-matching and other purposes described in the Privacy Policy, subject to its restrictions on SMS and verification information. We may be unable to invite members whose required profile information is incomplete or no longer current. Membership does not guarantee research invitations, study selection or compensation.
2. NEW MEMBER APPLICATIONS
Where online membership applications are offered, initial signup collects your contact details, including your registration email and required mailing address, and the applicable professional-profile questions for your primary position. Secondary and third positions are not requested at signup; approved members may add them later through available Member Portal features. A secondary clinical specialty is distinct from a secondary position and may be requested where relevant.
Your registration email is the address we use for Medical Mile communications and eligible portal sign-in. The application asks you to confirm access to it with an emailed code after entering your details and before final submission. The work-email check below is separate.
The verification-enabled application requires registration-email confirmation, the work-email verification step and identity verification before final submission. Any required notices and consent requests are presented before collection. Completing these checks does not mean that staff have approved your membership or professional information.
Your application enters the staff approval queue only when you make the final submission. Staff review the submitted information and any duplicate or conflicting records. Approved applicants may be added to the Network contact database and become eligible for Member Portal access and consideration for research opportunities. Staff membership approval is not required before you can submit a completed application.
3. PROFESSIONAL VERIFICATION
Where the work-email verification process is offered, you must provide the work email associated with your stated primary position and enter the one-time code sent to that address. Use an inbox you are authorized to access. Do not ask another person to complete this check for you.
We use this work email for the verification process and related records, not ongoing research communications. Your registration email remains the communication address. If you choose the same address for both purposes, it may also be used in its separate role as your registration address.
Work-email confirmation shows access to the supplied inbox. It does not independently certify your employment, title, license, clinical qualifications or NPI ownership. An NPI format or check-digit check is also not proof of credentials. The work-email process does not require a work-ID upload or company-directory link.
Staff review of the primary role and title is separate from work-email confirmation. An official professional-approval status requires staff review. Changes to your primary facility require a new work-email confirmation, and changes to your primary role or title may require renewed staff review.
If you cannot use a work email associated with your primary position, or information used in verification is incorrect, contact research@medicalmileresearch.com for guidance before submitting.
4. IDENTITY VERIFICATION THROUGH STRIPE
When offered, our document-and-selfie identity check uses Stripe Identity to examine a government-issued photo ID and compare it with a selfie. The facial comparison involves biometric processing. Its purpose is identity review and fraud prevention, not professional licensing or employment certification.
Use your own valid identification and follow the notices and consent requests presented before collection. Do not email identity documents to Medical Mile or place them in ordinary contact or profile fields. Accepting these Terms is not a substitute for any separately required biometric consent. Any optional permission Stripe separately requests for improving its biometric technology is not a condition imposed by Medical Mile for membership.
If you do not wish to use the document-and-selfie method, cannot complete the check or dispute its result, contact research@medicalmileresearch.com before proceeding to discuss review and available alternatives. Applicable legal requirements concerning alternative verification continue to apply. Required identity review must still be completed before final application submission. An alternative review does not guarantee membership. An unsuccessful automated result does not by itself establish fraud.
Our Privacy Policy describes information collected, authorized access, retention and privacy requests. Stripe also processes information for its own purposes as described at https://stripe.com/privacy. Identity-check results and contact details may be reviewed by Medical Mile staff; completing a Stripe check does not automatically approve membership or professional qualifications.
New-application requirements do not, by themselves, cancel an existing member's approved honorarium. Declining optional SMS is not a verification failure. A simulated or sandbox test is not verification of a real person's identity.
5. ACCOUNT ACCESS AND SECURITY
Member Portal access requires the email-confirmation process and an eligible account. Keep sign-in codes, private links and account access confidential. Do not give another person your code or allow them to participate using your identity. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or no longer control your registered email.
You may review your own information and use the account features available to you. Updating a professional profile or account mailing address does not rewrite a past payment submission, issued reward or check record. Contact research@medicalmileresearch.com if you need help with your registered identity or payment information.
We may restrict, suspend or close access when reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, resolve conflicting identity information, protect security, comply with law or address a breach of these Terms. Authorized staff may access account information for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. You may contact us to request review of an account decision.
6. RESEARCH PARTICIPATION AND HONORARIA
Research participation is voluntary. Eligibility, participation requirements, honorarium amounts and payment conditions depend on the individual study and the offer communicated to you. Membership or beginning a survey does not automatically create a right to compensation.
An applicable study offer or written confirmation may provide an honorarium for completion, screening, termination or another specified outcome. We honor approved payments according to the applicable offer and law. Do not assume that every incomplete or non-qualifying participation is either paid or unpaid; follow the terms of that study.
We may review or temporarily hold a payment where there is a reasonable concern about fraud, eligibility, duplicate payment or breach of study requirements, subject to applicable law and the study terms. Contact research@medicalmileresearch.com to ask about a payment or dispute a decision.
Portal honorarium history is for your information and does not itself issue, redeem, resend or extend a payment. Changes to your profile, withdrawal from optional SMS or expiration of a collection link do not by themselves cancel an otherwise approved unpaid honorarium. Contact us for assistance; we will review the payment's status before taking further action.
7. TAX RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for your personal tax obligations arising from honoraria. Medical Mile will request appropriate tax documentation and issue information returns when required by applicable law. Applicable forms and reporting thresholds depend on the payment type, year and other circumstances; receipt of a tax form is not the only circumstance in which income may be reportable.
If tax information is required, provide it through the secure method we designate, not ordinary email or profile fields. Medical Mile does not provide personal tax advice. Consult a qualified tax adviser about your circumstances.
8. OPTIONAL MEDICAL MILE RESEARCH TEXT MESSAGES
When available, the optional Medical Mile Research SMS program provides research invitations, follow-up invitations and reminders. After a separate affirmative opt-in, messages may be sent using automated technology to the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
SMS consent is not a condition of applying, membership, verification, research participation, a purchase or receiving an otherwise approved honorarium. Providing a phone number, confirming an email, expressing general interest, visiting our website or accepting these Terms does not by itself enroll you. Account email codes and payment communications are separate from this research-text program.
Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. You may also contact research@medicalmileresearch.com. We may send a single confirmation of your opt-out. Further program texts after withdrawal require a new affirmative opt-in. Unsubscribing from SMS does not by itself terminate membership or change email preferences.
Provide a number you control and tell us if you stop using it or it is reassigned. Delivery depends on mobile carriers and network conditions; messages can be delayed or undelivered. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages to the extent permitted by law.
Medical Mile Research does not sell or share mobile information or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Necessary messaging providers and carriers may process information to deliver the program and honor your choices. General disclosure provisions do not authorize unrelated use of SMS opt-in information. See https://www.medicalmileresearch.com/privacypolicy for details.
9. SITE MATERIALS AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Medical Mile and its licensors retain applicable intellectual property rights in website and research materials. Do not reproduce, distribute or exploit protected materials without permission, except as permitted by law. You may retain copies of these Terms, our Privacy Policy and your own records for personal reference.
Research invitations, access links and materials designated confidential are intended for their authorized recipient. Do not share private survey access, participant account details or confidential study materials without permission. These restrictions do not prohibit lawful reporting to authorities, obtaining professional advice or exercising rights that cannot legally be waived.
If you receive an email intended for someone else, do not use its private links or codes. Notify research@medicalmileresearch.com and delete it.
10. ENDING MEMBERSHIP
You may stop participating and contact us to request account closure. We may end or restrict membership for the reasons described in these Terms. Information may be retained or deleted according to the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Closing an account does not by itself eliminate a valid payment obligation or rights that survive by law. Confidentiality and appropriate restrictions on misuse of protected materials continue to apply.
11. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. We will post the updated version and effective date and provide notice or request renewed acceptance where required. An update does not automatically enroll you in SMS, supply a new biometric consent or override terms already applicable to an approved payment.
12. GOVERNING LAW AND OTHER TERMS
These Terms are governed by Michigan law, without applying its conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent mandatory law applicable to you requires otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any applicable study-specific terms address use of the Network and the relevant study. Required separate notices and consents remain effective. Stripe's notices govern its own processing and are not displaced by these Terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
